Prior to having attained fame via YouTube, Colette had been working as an exercise trainer.

She has a pug named Loius Gus Butler.

Colette and her husband Shay Carl started their family YouTube channel titled SHAYTARDS on October 2, 2008. However, Colette had already joined the community with her self-titled channel on December 5, 2007. Nevertheless, it was not until March 5, 2008, that Colette uploaded her first video to her account titled ME and SHAY.
